Modern society has had a long love affair with the Golden Age of Piracy. From Treasure Island to Pirates of the Caribbean we have taken a highly romanticized view of a dark time for commerce. Piracy was ugly, it was violent and it was unfair. Today’s piracy is different in its methodology but the goal is the same: take money from easy targets.
