The great pyramids in Egypt are old. Very, very old. They are some of the oldest structures still intact on Earth today. It is easy to say that something is old but it is much harder to contextualize that age.

Here is one of the most shocking ways to picture how old these mega structures truly are.

The Egyptian icon Cleopatra is closer in age to the Luxor Las Vegas than she is to the great pyramids in Egypt.

The glittering recreation of the Great Pyramid in Las Vegas is a cultural icon. It symbolizes everything that people love about Las Vegas: gambling, capitalism, and the recreation of iconic vistas for the benefit of tourists.
