Chatbots driven by artificial intelligence are on the rise. ChatGPT, OpenAI’s chatbot, has risen to become one of the fastest growing apps of all time. People are speculating that chatbots like ChatGPT will be able to supplant human jobs and create droves of internet content. However, experts caution that ripping off AI generated content might not be the best idea. The output of apps, like ChatGPT, is technically owned by the creators of OpenAI. Copying and pasting AI generated content is no different than copying and pasting any other online content. It is plagiarism. But that doesn’t mean that chatbots cannot help writers hone their craft.

Like many people, I have been playing around with ChatGPT and other similar apps to try and see what kind of content these AI programs are able to create, and one thing stood out to me above everything else. AI chatbots are extremely good at making concise points and boiling down complex concepts into digestible bites.

Making clear, concise, and compelling points is a trick of the trade that can be elusive for writers but is extremely powerful when mastered. AI chatbots seemed to have mastered this part of the writing craft.
