My Interest In Aliens Has Nothing To Do With Technology or Biology

And everything to do with religion

Millions of people believe in aliens (despite any supporting evidence.) That is because the idea of aliens is interesting. It is alluring. The idea that there could be something greater than us lurking in the heavens is one that has endured for generations. The idea of aliens interests me also (though I haven’t seen anything that has convinced me that they exist, and if they do, they are nowhere near the Earth.)

But unlike most people, I have little interest in xenobiology or exotic technologies. Where most people dream of faster-than-light travel, spacecraft, and advanced AI, my mind goes in a different direction. I want to know what kind of religion aliens have.

You see, studying alien religions can have a drastic effect on our own. Even learning that advanced alien beings have any belief in God would be astounding.

Do aliens believe in God? What kind of gods do aliens hold dear? What kind of religious history do they have? Are there any overlaps between our religion and their religion? Have aliens been able to find god amongst the stars? Would alien religion conflict with our religion? How many people would convert to an alien religion over a human religion? How would atheists react to learning…
