Some nicknames through history stick. People like Alexander the Great or William the Conqueror were interred into the pages of history with some truly fantastic nicknames that have defined them ever since. Other monarchs came away with some nicknames that are just downright mean. These rulers gained nicknames that they would rather probably forget about.
The Weak
Stefan Uroš V has the unfortunate distinction of being known as “the weak.” Uroš the Weak was the second emperor of the Serbian Empire. His nickname came from the fact that he was unusually tolerant in his rulership and modest in his office. His father, Stefan Dušan, was a powerful ruler who led multiple rounds of successful conquest. Uroš the Weak was straddled with a more extensive empire along with a bevy of powerful and enriched nobles. The result was that he was more ineffectual than his father and looked weak by comparison.
