Income tax is set nationally. If you're paying more in federal income tax that simply means you're making more money than other "red welfare state" citizens. All of your other ancillary taxes are set by your individual state. You should be happy that you're making more money than us poor folk. If you want a lower tax burden you can always move to a "low tax red welfare state" and see how the other side lives.
