I mean, by today's standards, Patton was absolutely a racist. By the standards of the day he was pretty common. He regularly referred to his black soldiers as "n*ggers" and refused to rotate black combat units from the front. At one point he kept a black unit in the field for six months while their white counterparts were rotated every few weeks to keep them fresh.
