I followed a very similar path. I applied to university as a journalism major, quickly swapped to a PoliSci major and now I'm here. I also saw the writing on the wall that journalism was going down in flames, at least good journalism.

What passes for "journalism" today is far from anything that I imagined when I was a young lad.
