I agree the west is not a monlith. I was mainly focusing on the Colorado River basin which primarily includes Phoenix and Las Vegas. Sure, some areas will hold out longer than others but the climate of the region is pretty uniform and aridification is happening from Arizona to Utah to Colorado.
