It’s really, actually, really simple.

Hardly a day goes by when I am not presented with an article to read. Whether it is Medium or Google or spam in my inbox, everyone seemingly wants me to read how someone makes thousands of dollars in passive income without doing any work. As time has gone by, the numbers get more and more ridiculous.

I recently saw one where a man claims to make $160,000 per month working just five hours. That is utterly ridiculous, and these clickbaity headlines are usually stuffed with conditions like “he inherited a multi-million dollar spa business and he's in charge of restocking the soap.” It takes him five hours per month to restock the soap and then he collects his “passive income” from his inherited trust. You can do it too!

Ridiculousness aside, I think I have discovered how these people are really making their money. It is not about vending machines or savvy investing. It is all about writing. Writing? Yes, writing.

That’s write. (Get it?)

The secret to printing piles of money monthly without doing any work is to simply write articles about making passive income.
