Hey thanks for reading! The answer to your question is twofold. First, CE is now the accepted way to date stuff in many historical circles. Second, and most importantly, everybody uses AD wrong and it annoys me. The correct way to use AD is to put it in before the date. The current year is AD 2022. But literally nobody does that. It is incorrect to put ad after the year. It is correct to put CE after the year. So I switched to that mostly out of a protest against people's ignorance.
