Flying To This Country Typically Involves 6 Separate Layovers

Traveling across the vast wastes of the Pacific Ocean usually involves long-haul flights that test your patience. There are major hubs in the Pacific at Hawai’i and Guam and getting to either of those places is fairly straightforward. I have been to both of these places multiple times and have flown from both the Asia side and the American side of the Pacific. These two hubs are gateways to the rest of Polynesia and there are still some places scattered out in the Pacific that I someday want to visit or add to my growing list of places to potentially ex-pat to whenever I decide that I want to disappear from modern society.

One such place is the Federated States of Micronesia. This is a small nation of just 100,000 people scattered across clusters of small islands and atolls. The nation features millions of square kilometers of open ocean and hundreds of tiny rocks jutting up from the waves. It is the home of Chuuk Lagoon, one of the most famous places from World War II, and has a breezy ambient temperature that does not change.
