Biden vs. Trump II could end up being one of the least popular presidential matchups in history. Despite the fact that seemingly no one wants this rematch, it is the one that Americans are likely to get in November. This has left many people longing for a viable third-party candidate who could potentially give voters a way out. 2024 is the most fertile year for such a run in recent memory, and it could be the year that sees the most successful third-party effort since Ross Perot in 1992. With that potential looming over the two major parties, the media effort to squash any such threats has already started. From MSNBC to conservative talk radio, pundits are already whipping out the stern finger and scolding anyone who dares consider voting third party.

The refrains are familiar. You’re throwing away your vote. Voting third party is a waste. A vote for a third party candidate is a vote for the other guy. Voting your conscience will only put the person you hate the most into the Oval Office.

These are all familiar scare tactics. Obviously, the Republicans and Democrats don’t want you to vote for a third party. They want you to vote for them. This is akin to Sony and Toshiba conspiring to tell you not to…
