What makes a person good? This is a question that is asked repeatedly in the Bible. Many people, especially Americans, consider themselves to be “good people,” but is that true? Scripture says that no one is truly good, and everyone has fallen short of the glory of God. But if you ask an American if they consider themselves to be a good person, they quickly and emphatically answer yes. This is because most people judge themselves based on the “major” sins. How many people would have an affair if given the chance? If someone came to you with a magic wand and said you could have the most sordid affair imaginable with anyone of your choosing, and no one would ever know, would you do it?
