An Update On The Podcast
Changes, improvements and lessons learned
For those of you who do not know, I launched a podcast late last year. We are halfway through our first season, and so far, the results have been…mixed. I am learning a lot about editing, recording, producing, and writing for a podcast. I am not satisfied with the results so far, but it is coming along. I am learning a lot, and I am committed to continuing in this endeavor for the foreseeable future. That being said, here are some updates and changes coming to the podcast.
- The first season will be ending on Monday, February 17th.
- The next season will switch to a biweekly schedule rather than a weekly schedule. This will allow me to tighten up the writing and recording and perhaps lengthen the episodes.
- The topics and format will be more uniform. Instead of choosing random topics I will have a theme for each season so that we can dive in deeper together on various stories that don’t get a lot of coverage elsewhere.
- Season Two is entitled Weird WWII and will consist of ten episodes.
- Season Three is entitled The Bronze Age and will consist of ten episodes.
- The rough topics for seasons two and three have already been selected, giving me ample time to gather relevant research for each episode.
- Overall quality and focus will be improved in the coming weeks.
- Season One will continue with a variety of topics before swapping to the themed seasons beginning in season two.
If you haven’t given the podcast a listen, please check it out. But give me some grace. I have already worked hard to improve my cadence and delivery (not as easy as it first sounds.) I consider Season One to very much be a BETA or exhibition, and I am very much looking forward to applying what I have learned to Seasons Two and Three, which I know will be fantastic. I can’t wait to share my passion for history with you all.
If you want to wait until the kinks are further worked out, I will announce when Season Two goes live (likely sometime in March.)
I appreciate all of the love and support I regularly receive from my audience. Thank you so much!
