5 Things I Learned After A Battle With Delta COVID
I haven’t been publishing because I’ve been ill
I have not published very much recently, and that is because I was sick with COVID-19. Today is my tenth day battling this illness, and I finally think I might be on the upswing. Getting to this point was not easy. Despite being in my late twenties and healthy, this disease really took the wind out of my sails. I couldn’t work, I couldn’t read, I couldn’t leave the house, I couldn’t do chores. It was surprisingly challenging.
Now, I finally feel well enough to start writing again (I’ve missed writing), and I wanted to let all of you know what I learned from my stint with Delta COVID.
The no smell and taste thing is super real
I can’t smell or taste anything. Nothing. Zip. Nada. It has made changing my baby’s diapers much easier, but it has made eating miserable. The virus already tanks your appetite, and then not having the ability to smell or taste your food makes it that much worse. I’ve heard of people who don’t get their senses back for weeks or months, and the prospect of that sounds absolutely dreadful. I can’t taste black coffee. I can’t taste pizza. I can’t smell my deodorant or myself to figure out if I need more deodorant. It’s terrible and way more debilitating than…
